This recipe is a simple way to bake chicken breast, for use, in several ways. In other words, if you follow these steps, you will end up with chicken that can be used in a variety of future dishes. You can make a large batch of chicken breasts in the oven, and store them for quick meals later on. This recipe uses just a few ingredients, so that it won't clash with any of the meals you add it to.
You can adjust any of the ingredients to fit your taste, or menu for the week. For instance, you can season with chili powder or pour a packet of taco seasoning over the breasts before baking. Then, you can cut them up and use in wraps and southwestern salads for that week's lunches. There are endless ways to use chicken; these directions will give you just the basics.
Ingredients:
5 chicken breasts
1 tbsp garlic powder
3 tsp salt (I like to use Himalayan salt)
3 tsp pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°
In a baking dish, add chicken breasts.
Talk a fork, and stab the breasts a few times
Drizzle olive oil over breasts
Season breasts with salt, garlic powder, & pepper
Mix breasts with hands or tongs to evenly coat seasonings on both sides of breasts
Cook breasts for 45 minutes, or until cooked all the way through.
*Feel free to pound chicken breasts or cut in half, for faster and more even cooking. I typically just cut them in half and throw them in the oven. I like to make things as quick as possible.
Note: Cooking time will vary if you cut your breasts in half, and/or pound them thin.
